Coal mining operations are inseparable from the problem of dust during hauling. This issue is usually addressed by repeatedly spraying the roads with water using water trucks. This method is highly ineffective, as it only lasts for a few minutes and requires a large amount of water.

Solution

The appropriate solution to tackle dusty mining roads is the use of chemical dust suppressants. These products function to increase soil moisture, bind dust particles, harden the soil when used over the long term, and significantly reduce water usage.

After curing, the application of polymer-based dust suppressant technology can function optimally and does not dissolve when it rains. Our studies have found that long-term use can save up to 50% – 70% of normal water usage.

Success story 

The application of DustBlock 901 dust suppressant by one of our customers in South Kalimantan on a 1 km hauling road yielded the following results:

The use of DustBlock 901 chemical was able to reduce water consumption and fuel usage by 62% each. 

Applying DustBlock 901 at a ratio of 1:200 in the initial stage for 4 days, followed by a ratio of 1:500 in the maintenance stage for one month, was able to reduce dust by up to 80% compared to using water alone with a spraying frequency of twice per day.
