On July 18-19, 2024, Media Perkebunan, in collaboration with the Association of Indonesian Plantation Professionals (P3PI), held their second annual conference and exhibition. The event was named the 2nd Technology and Talent Palm Oil Mill Indonesia (TPOMI).
The two-day conference and exhibition took place at the Holiday Inn Bandung Pasteur, West Java. The 2nd TPOMI featured speakers from renowned palm oil industries and attracted hundreds of participants, including exhibitors and visitors. Eonchemicals also participated to enliven the event.
The 2nd TPOMI, themed “Updating Technology Palm Oil Mill Indonesia,” was inaugurated with opening remarks by Mr. Ir. Posma Sinurat, head of the palm oil division at P3PI, Mr. Ir. Gamal Nasir MS, general manager of Media Perkebunan, and Mr. Ir. Putu Juli Ardika, Director General of Agro Industry at the Ministry of Industry.
The main objective of this conference and exhibition was to share insights with participants about the latest processing technologies, best practices, and innovative solutions. This was aimed at maximizing efficiency and optimizing the productivity of palm oil mills in Indonesia.
Approximately 24 topics were discussed by various speakers during the conference. One notable presentation was by Mr. Bonar Saragih, head of the HR division at P3PI, who spoke on “Increasing OER Palm Oil Mill Without ‘Miko’ (Palm Acid Oil).”
The future hope after attending the 2nd TPOMI is that business actors, especially in the palm oil industry, can reduce oil losses in waste ponds as much as possible. This can be achieved by utilizing the latest technology and managing existing manpower so that oil production can increase without generating waste oil.
